The American Association for Clinical Chemistry will hold an audioconference on March 19 discussing the Health Care Financing Administration's New Payment Rules which were implemented at the beginning of this year. These must be adhered to by April 1 or Medicare and Medicaid will refuse reimbursement claims. Discussion topics include recent changes for bundling automated tests; how much Medicare will pay for chemistry panels; the documentation HCFA now requires for reimbursement; and how other laboratories are complying with the new requirements.
