Executive Summary
Scientists at the National Institutes of Health in the US have developed a test for hepatitis A that differentiates between those infected with the virus and those vaccinated against it. Current tests can fail to recognise those who have developed antibodies against proteins in the virus and those who have developed antibodies against proteins in the inactivated HAV vaccines. The NIH is looking to license the technology to diagnostics manufacturers.
