German device suppliers had a difficult time in 1998, according to the federal trade association, BVMed. Aggregated sales of its 161 member companies came to DM6.1 billion ($3.25 billion) - only 4.6% up on the previous year. This fell below the industry's expectations, says BVMed's annual report.
