Point-of-care diagnostics company Quidel is to boost its women's health product range through the $22.9 million acquisition of Metra Biosystems. Earlier this year, Metra, which makes ultrasound bone density devices and bone marker tests, was involved in a failed merger project with Spectral Diagnostics.
