Disetronic Medical Systems has launched its Disetronic Pen injector, claiming it is the first insulin injector on the US market which allows patients to choose their own insulin manufacturer and to fill the pen using supplies of insulin in the more economical vial format. Other manufacturers' products use single-use disposable or custom pre-filled pens.
