Spectranetics is to begin testing its CVX-300 excimer laser system for treating cardiac patients with restenosed stents. A multicentre trial involving 320 patients will compare the effectiveness of excimer laser-assisted balloon angioplasty with balloon angioplasty alone in clearing the stents.
