Executive Summary

PowderJect Pharmaceuticals, a UK-based development stage gas jet needle-free injector company is to hire a new CEO, as Paul Drayson, the founder and presently chairman and CEO of the seven-year-old company relinquishes that title. Mr Drayson will remain executive chairman. The company came in for criticism recently when Wall Street Journal Europe (WSJE) commented on PowderJect's repeatedly lengthening forecasts of when it could launch its first product, a needleless injection of the anaesthetic lidocaine. The WSJE estimates launch could be delayed until 2003 at least.
