Executive Summary
AcryMed is actively seeking corporate partners to develop two new composite woundcare materials. The Irvine, California-based privately owned biomaterials company is developing a hydrophilic polymer which incorporates a controlled-release antimicrobial. The company says that the material kills both gram positive and gram negative bacteria (including MRSA), spore formers and fungus. The material has shown increased healing and other benefits in both acute and chronic wound use. The second material is an oxygen-carrying hydrophilic foam for ischaemic tissue.
