A US tobacco company has donated $2.4 million for research into spiral CT scanning for lung cancer. The Vector Group, which makes the Liggett brand of cigarettes, said it was donating the money to the International Collaboration to Screen for Lung Cancer led by researchers at Cornell University, New York.
