STAAR Surgical has begun small-scale marketing of its three-piece Collamer intraocular lens (IOL) in the US. The product was approved by the FDA in April. The company, which recently underwent a major restructuring programme, is currently in the inventory building phase, and expects full-scale release of the device by January.
