LifeCell discontinues advertisements in Inamed settlement:

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

LifeCell and its marketing partner Obagi Medical have agreed to withdraw certain US advertising following objections from rival company Inamed. Inamed filed a lawsuit saying that ads for LifeCell's Cymetra tissue matrix technology product involved false advertising claims when comparing LifeCell's product to Inamed's. Inamed will drop the lawsuit while LifeCell will also pay $300,000 over the next 18 months. It will be allowed to begin advertising again early next year, using revised claims based on further scientific data.
