Executive Summary
A European Union directive on devices containing stable substances from human blood or plasma should be in place this autumn. Voting by Parliament is scheduled for late October and it seems that all political groups are willing to adopt the Common Position agreed by the Council in July without amendments. This means that the Council could both adopt and then publish the directive by the end of November.
