Galil Medical has received US FDA 510(k) clearance to market its cryotherapy system for minimising pain following thoracic surgery and for ablating cardiac arrhythmic tissue. The CryoHit device can be used to numb the intercostal nerves of cardiac patients during open-heart surgery, allowing patients to experience a fast and pain-free recovery, says the Yokneam, Israel firm.
