Canada proposes establishment fee reduction:

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

The Canadian Therapeutic Products Programme (TPP) has proposed to limit the establishment fee for medical device companies to 1% of their previous fiscal year's total sales. Companies will be able to apply for a reduction if the fee is subsequently found to exceed this percentage. The proposal also aims to eliminate the Can$2,530 ($1,684) initial establishment fee and requires only an annual fee of Can$2,120, reports MEDEC, Canada's device industry association. Companies that have already paid the Can$2,150 initial fee for this year will be reimbursed for the extra cost.
