Executive Summary
Cohesion Technologies has moved a step closer in its bid to market its CoSeal surgical sealant in Japan - the world's largest market for fibrin sealants. The firm's local distributor, Japan Lifeline, has submitted the product for approval several months ahead of plan, says Cohesion, of Palo Alto, California. Surgeons in Japan are already using in excess of $150 million in fibrin sealants annually, says Frank DeLustro, the company's president and chief operating officer. CoSeal, claimed to be the only completely synthetic vascular sealant, is already available in certain European countries and in Australia.
