The UK Department of Health (DoH) has launched a consultation on how to best improve the delivery of healthcare, with the aim of eliminating inequalities in the service. The initiative is backed by a report that sets out six priorities, including antenatal care, cancer and coronary heart disease. The consultation will be based on local programmes already underway and will focus on targets announced by the DoH in February 2001.
