Fifteen months after its inception, the connectivity industry consortium (CIC,) has completed its mandate and is facing the tough challenge of implementation. The CIC is an open consortium made up of point-of-care device manufacturers, information system vendors, and laboratories. It was established to enable seamless information exchange between POC devices and laboratory information systems and electronic medical records.
