The UK's Medical Devices Agency raises objections to some 20% of clinical investigations each year. It is viewed as a particularly strict authority. But the MDA remains committed to continuing its policy since many serious problems with devices in the marketplace can be traced back to inadequate clinical investigation data, Susanne Ludgate, medical director, said at the recent MDA meeting* in London.
