Sweden amends blood rules

Swedish regulations and advice procedures for blood and plasma donations and transfusions are to be revised. The amendments decided by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare (SOS), are intended to minimise the risk of disease transmission. The availability of new knowledge on the spread of disease through transfusion prompted the revision, says the SOS.
