Executive Summary
The Swedish doctors' union (Lakarforbundet) has taken over Spriterm, the national glossary and terminology database, via its subsidiary Lakarnet, for a token payment of SKr1. Lakarnet intends to use the internet portal to distribute and further develop ways of presenting and distributing data. It also hopes to increase web access and provide better work tools for doctors, such as interactive engines, prescription modules and a dependable register. Spriterm was formerly owned by the state and the county council.
