Executive Summary
Biomerica is developing a food allergy serum test that will be for use primarily by the Japanese population. The ELISA-based test, which will be made using foods that are specifically endemic to Japan, requires just a few drops of blood to detect specific IgGs that are associated with 14 different food allergens, says Biomeria, which is developing the test for Japanese firm, Kyowa Medex, Tokyo. The test may be launched later this year initially for research purposes in Japan, says Biomerica, of Newport Beach, California.
