A leading bone marrow and cell therapy specialist has approached the Qatar ministry of health with proposals to set up an umbilical cord blood bank. According to Dr Han Myint, the Qatari minister of public health, Dr Hajar Ahmad Hajar, has agreed with the suggestion "in principle".
