France withdraws Becton Dickinson pressure monitors:

Executive Summary

The French healthcare products safety agency, AFSSAPS, yesterday (July 24 2002) announced the market withdrawal of pressure monitoring kits made by Becton Dickinson. The withdrawal affects lots 109101 of reference number 686363 and lots 107521 and 109198 of reference number 687162 of the company's BD DTX Plus kits. The measure was taken, says AFSSAPS, due to the "considerable risk of an adverse clinical event" associated with the possible detachment of the tubing from the Luer-Lock connections.
