Oman has included a state-of-the-art oncology centre in its sixth five-year health plans. The centre, to be constructed at the Royal Hospital in Muscat, is aimed at cutting the number of referrals abroad for cancer patients. At present, up to 68% of patients are forced to go abroad for treatment, Omani health minister Ali bin Mohammed bin Moosa told The Oman Times.
