The US FDA has cleared for sale VivoMetrics' noninvasive, ambulatory monitoring system that continuously records physiological data, such as cardiopulmonary function, while patients carry out daily activities. The LifeShirt system consists of a wearable garment with sensors embedded in the fabric. The Ventura, California firm will initially target the product to three markets: clinical trials for new drugs and medical devices; home sleep diagnostics; and academic research into causes and prevention of respiratory, cardiovascular, behavioural health and sleep-related disorders.
