UAE (United Arab Emirates) Welcare hospital to perform cardiac surgery:

Executive Summary

The UAE department of health and medical services has authorised the Welcare hospital in the Al Garhoud area of Dubai to carry out cardiac surgery. This makes it the country's first private hospital to have been awarded this distinction and is aimed at cutting the cost of transporting heart patients abroad for surgery. Welcare's CEO and medical director Dr T. P. Ray said that new surgery unit would cut patient treatment costs by two thirds. The unit will be able to carry out cardiac surgery on all age ranges, from neonates to the elderly, reports the Gulf News.
