Seroba BioVentures, the Dublin, Ireland-based specialist life sciences fund manager, has launched what it claims is the first venture capital fund dedicated exclusively to biotechnology across Ireland and Northern Ireland, with particular focus on the areas of medical devices, diagnostics and therapeutics. The Irish Bioscience Venture Capital Fund was set up to invest in seed and early-stage projects emerging from academia, research hospitals and existing companies. It will also seek to promote "new enabling technology platforms".
