Executive Summary
Eucomed, the European medical device industry association, will not be rescheduling its 9th Global Medical Devices Conference after all. The meeting had been postponed because of the tragic events of September 11 2001. It will not take place because Eucomed does not feel it can expose itself and its members to "further financial risk in addition to the major loss which we have already incurred as a result of the postponement of the Barcelona event". Its decision was also impacted by the fact that the Japanese medical device industry association, JFMDA is planning a Global Medical Devices Conference, in Tokyo, probably in May 2003.
