Executive Summary
The European medical devices industry association, Eucomed, is proposing a work programme on the disposal of medical devices. The European Commission is increasing the pressure on the environmental aspects of product design and consumer information through its Integrated Product Policy. And the association's environmental focus group (EFG) believes that the pressure for more infromation will grow, especially since all new European Standards Committee (CEN) standards will contain information on product life cycle, including disposal.
