The Spanish province of Gerona, in Catalonia, will soon have a major specialist radiology and nuclear medicine centre, when new "state-of-the-art" facilities based at Trueta hospital begin to operate later this year. The province currently relies on facilities in Barcelona. Regional health minister Eduard Rius announced the news during the recent opening of a nuclear medicine department "equipped with the latest gamma cameras" at the city's Girona clinic.
