Executive Summary
The European Parliamentary Environment Committee (ENVI) has now adopted an opinion on the prevention and control of trafficking in human organs and tissues. This is an important issue to the medical devices industry which must be sure of the source of any tissues used in the manufacture of human tissue engineered devices. The ENVI opinion complements issues that are addressed by the Parliament in its amendment to the proposed directive on the quality and safety of tissues and cells.
