This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

An independent report on the development of the radiation oncology services of Ireland's South Eastern Health Board (SEHB) should be ready for consideration by the government within around seven weeks and will then be published. So said health minister Micheal Martin, following a meeting last week with authorities from Waterford, aimed at outlining the priorities for developing the services. Since 1997, the SEHB has received an extra E30m ($34.5m) approximately to develop cancer services, notably in the areas of medical oncology, surgery, radiology and haematology.
