Electronic communication of healthcare information has been given a boost following an eHealth award being given to the Hopital Europeen Georges Pompidou in Paris for the implementation of a fully integrated hospital information system. This is good news for integrated health systems, believes the European association which represents manufacturers of electronic and electromedical devices, COCIR. The basic principles for the development of this hospital information system are very much in line with the basic principles of the initiative "Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise in Europe". organised by COCIR and the European Association of Radiology and financially supported under the European Commission's Fifth Framework Programme.
