As had been feared, the Japanese organisers of the forthcoming 10th GHTF conference, scheduled for May 26-28, have cancelled the meeting. GHTF chair Taisuke Hojo said in a letter posted on www.ghtf.org today that SARS and the Iraq war have led to the decision to cancel all plans. There are no plans to reschedule it this year. Japan has had no cases of definitely diagnosed SARS, said Mr Hojo. The Global Medical Devices Conference, which follows the GHTF, will go ahead, Clinica learnt today.
