Executive Summary
The US FDA has cleared for sale GE Medical Systems' (GEMS) 3.0T ultra-short magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system, Signa Excite. The scanner, says the company, combines the increased speed and higher resolution of an ultra-high field system with the breadth of imaging capabilities found on premium 1.5T systems. It offers the world's largest patient imaging volume with a full 45cm field-of-view imaging capability, GEMS claims.
