Executive Summary
Sales in German diagnostics are rising steadily, buoyed by a booming OTC test market.Despite slumping severely in 1999 and 2000, turnover was up 5.7% last year to E1.71bn ($1.85bn). VDGH director Dierk Meyer-Luerbetaen said that this positive result was partly due to the booming OTC test market, which rose by 10% to E558m in 2002. Even if these results were excluded - the OTC market represents 30% of total sales - sales would still have risen by 4%.
