Executive Summary
A Clinical Technology Centre was opened yesterday (February 24 2003) by Scotland's NHS Tayside trust and the University of Dundee. It is the kind of initiative that will support NHS moves to decentralise high-tech medical and survival services hitherto based at hospitals (see Clinica No 1046, p 8). Projects underway at the centre in Ninewells Hospital in Dundee include an electronic health record network and an integrated web-based system to support coronary vascular disease management in the community and hospital setting.
