A company working on closed-loop neuromodulation devices to treat neurological disorders like Parkinson's disease and epilepsy has completed a $6m financing round and named serial medtech entrepreneur John Harris as president and CEO. NeuroBionics, of Seattle, received funding from The Sprout Group and Three Arch Partners, which respectively nominated partners Andrew Firlik and Bill Harrington to its board of directors. Mr Harris is a founder of two other Seattle-based medical device firms: Northstar Neuroscience (electrical brain stimulation technology for stroke recovery) and Heartstream (public-access heart defibrillators).
