Medtronic recalls software application cards

Medtronic has issued a voluntary recall in the US of certain software application cards used for programming its SynchroMed implantable drug pump systems. The recalled cards have a labelling fault that has led to errors in programming of drug delivery times. These errors have resulted in two deaths and seven serious injuries.
