Tucson, Arizona-based diagnostics company Ventana Medical Systems is to incorporate Quantum Dot's Qdot nanocrystal technology to develop a family of rapid, quantitative and multiplexed assays for cancer diagnosis and disease management. According to Hayward, California-based Quantum, its nanometer-sized semiconductor crystals, which emit light brightly in a range of sharp colours, have unique properties that make them an ideal detection platform for biology.
