Executive Summary
North American Scientific's radiation oncology division Nomos has launched an image-guided tracking feature that expands the clinical applications for its BAT (B-mode acquisition and targeting) image-guided radiation therapy technology. The new optical camera targeting solution widens BAT's current clinical use in the prostate to applications in the breast, liver, pancreas, bladder, cervix and head and neck. Coupled with the optical camera, is a patented ultrasound probe tracker that will allow the user to navigate on multiple planes and at multiple angles. Both features enable clinicians using BAT to locate soft tissue targets anywhere in the body, quickly and easily, said the Chatsworth, California firm.
