Italy's medical radiology association (SIRM) has established a molecular imaging research group. The group, which was formally established at the Milan-based association's annual congress, which was held last month in Palermo, is headed by SIRM vice-president Alessandro Del Maschio and Marco Salvatore. In a separate initiative, the SIRM has set up an online tool for assessing the activity and efficiency levels of radiology services. The system, developed jointly with healthcare research, IT and consultancy company SAGO (Florence), is available via SIRM's website to its members.
