"Creating a joint Australasian agency to register medical devices makes a lot of sense. But the costs of medical devices will rise and the level of patient care could suffer if the wrong system is introduced." This is the warning given by Faye Sumner, chief executive officer of the New Zealand Medical Device Industry Association, MIANZ, in an article due to be published in the association's annual review.
