Executive Summary

A new sort of battery for implantable devices that could last for 30 years - some five times more than existing technology - could reach the market within 2-3 years. So said Michael Weiner, CEO of Biophan Technologies, which has just announced the acquisition of a 51% stake in the company responsible for developing the technology, TE-Bio. The battery is designed to convert the body's thermal energy into electrical energy.
