Inion, the Tampere, Finland-based biodegradable medical devices developer, has appointed Richard Wolf Medical Instruments (RWMI) as exclusive US distributor of its sports medicine product range. The agreement, which runs for an initial 12-month period, covers products including Inion's Hexalon interference screw for securing a repaired cruciate ligament in the knee; the Trinion screw for repairing splits and tears in the knee cartilage; and the Anchron suture anchor for soft tissue reattachment during shoulder surgery repair. RWMI, the Vernon Hills, Illinois-based subsidiary of German endoscopy group Richard Wolf, will market Inion's implants with its arthroscopic instruments and equipment.
