A non-polymer-based stent sprayed with the drug, sirolimus, in the cath lab prior to an angioplasty procedure was as effective in avoiding restenosis as a standard drug-eluting stent, according to the results of the 450-patient ISAR-TEST trial reported at last week's Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) meeting in Washington, DC.
