Abbott Diabetes Care is introducing in Europe a new blood glucose test strip that can produce results in half the time of its original version of the product. The Precision Xtra Plus, designed for use with the firm's Precision Xceed meter yields results in just five seconds and requires only a small 0.6 microlitre blood sample, said the company. In certain markets, Precision Xtra Plus and Precision Xceed are also known as Optium Plus and Optium Xceed, respectively. The Precision Xtra plus strip will become available next month.
