UnitedHealthcare, of Minnetonka, Minnesota, joins several other insurers including Aetna, Cigna and various branches of Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans - all of which have agreed to reimburse medically necessary treatment of mild to moderate psoriasis using the PhotMedex Xtrac laser system. It is believed that around 7 million individuals in the US are affected by psoriasis and an estimated 150,000 to 260,000 new cases are diagnosed each year.
