The European Commission is making significant strides in developing new guidelines on best practice and quality assurance in screening for breast, cervical and colorectal cancer. That was the gist of an update made by the European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection, Markos Kyprianou, at a joint Luxembourg and France informal health ministers council in mid-April.
