Executive Summary

The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) has announced a new investment of Can$23.8m (US$19.7m) for 120 projects in 41 universities. The universities of New Foundland, New Brunswick, Waterloo and Western Ontario are among those being funded for medical device and diagnostic research projects. The investment comes in the wake of calls from the Canadian Medical Association to invest more funds in medical technology.
